Eric Hosmer attended American Heritage School (Florida). He was surrounded there by stars such as 2010 first round draft pick Nick Castellanos, Freshman All-American Deven Marrero, 5th Round draft pick Adrian Nieto, 11th round draft pick Juancarlos Sulbaran, and AFLAC All-American catcher Brandon Sedell. He was chosen by the Royals in the first round (3rd overall) in the 2008 Major League Baseball Draft.
